OVERVIEW
Besoke Horology is a startup company helping consumers build unique timepieces using genuine Rolex parts and accessories. A jewelry store owner noticed that when they sent out watches to be repaired, the customers most often did not want to keep the parts that often accompanied the repair. Over time these parts began to accumulate, and the owners found a market for using these spare parts for customers wanting to customize their Rolex watches. The concept for the website was developed in the spring of 2019 and was abandoned in the early spring of 2020 due to supply chain issues with the Covid-19 pandemic.
THE CHALLENGE
Bespoke Horology was a young startup with limited experience in digital design and high-end ecommerce. They needed a premium online experience that let customers customize a watch—choosing parts much like building a car—and feel confident enough to place a deposit. The challenge was creating a clear, luxury-level journey that made complex options easy to understand and visualize.
THE SOLUTION
I defined the brand’s digital identity and built a simple, scalable design system. Using customer insights and cross-industry best practices, I created a clean set of components for a guided customization flow. Customers could explore options, see real-time updates, review a polished summary, and place their deposit with confidence.
